The Custom Design Process
The first step in creating a wedding dress is the design phase. A team of talented designers works closely with the bride to bring her vision to life.
Each custom wedding gown is one-of-a-kind and requires hundreds of hours to create.
The design process typically takes 8-12 months depending on scheduling and the complexity of the design. However, we will take on a rush order for an additional fee as long as the wedding date is at least 8 weeks away.
If you're not sure about what you want for your wedding dress, a DMT Designer will guide you to find the best look for you.
Consultations are done in-person or by video conference.
You’ll speak directly with one of the designers and share your inspirations and ideas. We will keep in touch with you throughout your project with updates and fittings as necessary.
Consult & Conceptualize
1. Custom Design Consultation
Your FREE design consultation will take place in-person or by video conference. During this initial consultation, we will discuss your vision, ideas, and what you are looking to have in your dream dress. This appointment is all about getting to know you—your personality, your taste, and your wedding style. We work with you, hand-in-hand, to build your vision before your eyes.
2. Fabrics
We will also discuss your specific fabric needs so that our team can source the perfect materials for your design. We source our fabrics from some of the same suppliers as luxury name brands. If your design requires something not readily available, it’s very likely that DMT Bridal can create it for you.
3. Pricing
After you confirm the design, materials, and the type and amount of details, the Designers will quote you an estimated price.
Design & Create
4.Taking Detailed Measurements
To create the most flattering dress for you, our seamstresses take detailed measurements at an in-person consultation. If you are not traveling to Jacksonville, we will help you take those measurements by video conference. Or you can have them taken by your local seamstress and send them to us.
5. Construction
When it comes to creating a wedding dress, the construction process is a meticulous and intricate endeavor. Every detail is carefully considered and executed to ensure that the final product is nothing short of perfection.
Fit & Finalize
6. First Fitting
Here your design is almost complete. We take the time to ensure that you are getting the most precise fit, and that we are executing your vision fully.
You can specify the materials and placement of embellishments and work with our team to achieve the exact look you want.
7. Final Fitting and Styling
You’ll do the final fitting after the dress is finished to make sure you are happy with the result. And if you need further assistance, our Designers will also help you to stylize your bridal look by suggesting the right shoes, accessories, hair and makeup as well.
